Aswan's Mahatta Square hosts ‘Art Street’ cultural initiative

The ‘Art Street’ initiative has transformed Mahatta Square in Aswan into an open space for creativity and public engagement. Organized by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces as part of the ‘Culture is Life’ national arts project, the initiative aims to bring arts to public spaces, discover new talents, and develop children's skills.

Recent activities included performances by the ‘Capable of Difference’ expressive art team and the Aswan Cultural Palace choir, who presented a variety of national and heritage songs. The events also featured puppet theater shows and talent discovery sessions for singing and poetry, providing a platform for youth to showcase their abilities.

To foster artistic development, the initiative includes hands-on workshops for children, such as collage making and gypsum modeling. These activities are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Aswan Governorate to promote community participation in cultural and artistic life.
