ASX appoints new CFO and senior executives

ASX has announced several key leadership appointments as part of its transformation and renewal program under new Managing Director and CEO Anthony Attia.

Keir Barnes, formerly the CFO of Dexus, has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer. She succeeds Andrew Tobin, who will remain in the role until the transition is complete.

Mark Peterson, the former CEO of NZX, will take on the newly created role of Managing Director, Clearing and Settlement in November 2026. This position will involve a dual reporting line to Attia and the Clearing and Settlement Boards.

Additionally, Elaine Vaisanen, a veteran of J.P. Morgan, will become Chief Operating Officer in December 2026, succeeding Diona Rae. Vaisanen will also lead the company’s transformation program, known as ‘Accelerate’.
