Asyraf Wajdi rejects calls to resign as MARA Chairman

Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and UMNO Secretary-General, has rejected calls from the PKR Youth wing (AMK) to resign from his position. He stated that his tenure is determined solely by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, rather than external political pressure.

Addressing allegations regarding his integrity and links to the Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI), Asyraf Wajdi dismissed the claims as perception-based, noting his name was not mentioned in the report. He emphasized his commitment to strengthening MARA’s governance and its mission to support Malay and Bumiputera education and entrepreneurship.
