Asyut Governor Mohamed Alwan launches street clearing and building regularization campaigns

Governor Mohamed Alwan of Egypt’s Asyut governorate announced a large‑scale operation to clear illegal stalls and encroachments on Riyadh Street in the city’s East district. Coordinated with local police and district head Ibrahim Abu Al‑Ayoun, the drive removed street vendors and non‑compliant shops, restored full traffic flow and imposed legal penalties on violators to prevent future obstructions.

At the same time, the governor continued door‑to‑door “roads of the doors” campaigns across towns and villages in the governorate, urging residents to complete building‑regularization procedures. Local unit heads such as Susan Mohamed Rady of Qusiyah led visits to inform owners of illegal constructions about required documents, promote the use of legal facilitation, and warn of legal action for non‑compliance. Both initiatives follow President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi’s directives to improve public order and legal compliance.
