Asyut Governor Seizes 4,000 Spoiled Beverage Packs and 4,200 Expired Candies

Governor Mohamed Alwan of Egypt's Asyut governorate announced a large food‑safety raid that confiscated around 4,000 containers of sugary drinks deemed unfit for consumption and roughly 4,200 pieces of expired confectionery. The operation, part of intensified market inspections directed by President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi, also uncovered 160 unlabeled tea packages, 19 bottles of fortified oil, and several batches of expired cosmetics. Authorities issued multiple enforcement notices, including violations for failure to display prices and for inadequate record‑keeping by vendors. All seized items have been retained for legal proceedings to protect public health and ensure market stability.
