Atacama authorities announce monthly pension compensation for women
The Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Labor and Social Security of Atacama has announced details regarding the Compensation for Life Expectancy Differences (CEV). This benefit provides an additional monthly amount to female pensioners to mitigate pension gaps caused by higher female life expectancy.
To qualify, women must be 65 years of age or older and receiving a pension for old age or disability. The compensation is an automatic benefit, meaning no application or administrative procedures are required to receive it alongside the pension.
The percentage of the compensation varies based on the age at which the woman retired. Those retiring at 65 receive 100% of the corresponding compensation, while those retiring earlier receive a smaller proportion. Specific conditions apply to women receiving disability pensions. Regional authority Cristina Bravo Bassi encouraged the community to spread this information, noting that many eligible women remain unaware of the benefit.
