Ataco, Colombia: Drone explosive attack targets police station

Explosives launched from two drones targeted the police station in Ataco, Tolima, on Friday morning. The attack occurred while a curfew was in effect due to a large-scale security operation involving over one thousand officers aimed at combating illegal mining in the municipality.

Authorities reported that the explosives landed approximately five meters from the station. While no injuries were reported among police or administrative staff, the explosions caused damage to the police station and the municipal library.

Following the incident, local authorities ordered residents to return to their homes immediately and requested that businesses close to ensure public safety. The attack disrupted a brief window of time during which residents had been permitted to leave their homes to purchase essential food supplies.
