Atakum municipal police tighten safety inspections of construction sites

Atakum municipal police (Zabıta) have intensified inspections of construction sites across the district, targeting firms that lack adequate safety measures and that block sidewalks and roads with building materials such as iron, concrete and bricks. Inspectors issued formal warnings to the identified firms and removed the obstructive materials to protect pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Mayor Serhat Türkel said the inspections will continue to increase, stressing the need for shared responsibility to keep Atakum safe and livable. Zabıta chief Yücel Yıldız highlighted that the comprehensive checks will be sustained without interruption to safeguard public safety and urban order.
