Atakum Municipality athletes win Turkish Boccia championship

Athletes from the Atakum Municipality Yaşam Park team achieved significant success at a Boccia tournament held in Balıkesir. In the individual BC2 women's category, Nagihan Karaali secured second place in the Turkish rankings. Additionally, the team consisting of Caner Çağlayan, Huri Güngör, and Nagihan Karaali won the Turkish championship.

The Yaşam Park Culture, Art and Education Center in Atakum provides diverse training for over 100 families, including individuals with special needs. Under the guidance of experts from the Atakum Municipality and Atakum Public Education Center, participants engage in various disciplines such as handicrafts, painting, music, choir, rhythm, folk dance, theater, drama, and table tennis.

To promote social inclusion, Mayor Serhat Türkel led an Accessible Life Workshop in May, bringing together academics, public institutions, and NGOs to discuss creating more accessible living spaces. The center continues to support the social and competitive development of its students through concerts, exhibitions, and sports tournaments.
