Atakum Municipality honors Turkish poets at Ata Sahne
Atakum Municipality held a commemorative poetry event at Ata Sahne to honor several prominent figures of Turkish literature. The program featured the works of Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Nazım Hikmet, Cemal Safi, Rıza Tevfik Bölükbaşı, and Neyzen Tevfik.
Poet Kenan Yavuzarslan served as the guest performer, reciting the works of these masters accompanied by guitar music. During the performance, Yavuzarslan shared the life stories and historical contexts behind the poems.
Attendees included local officials and academic figures, such as Prof. Dr. Bekir Şişman from Ondokuz Mayıs University, who praised Yavuzarslan’s technical ability to integrate various poetic meters including aruz, syllabic, and free verse.
