Atakum Municipality provides support services for women

The Özgecan Women's Counseling Center, operated by the Atakum Municipality, provides comprehensive social, legal, and psychological support to approximately 400 women within the city limits. The center features a specialized team including psychologists, dietitians, child development specialists, and social workers.

In addition to counseling, the center offers vocational training courses in areas such as upholstery, sewing, and jewelry design to help women contribute to their household economies. Participants can showcase and sell their handmade products at organized exhibitions and local markets. The facility also promotes healthy living through fitness, yoga, and pilates sessions, alongside seminars on wellness.
