Atalanta presents Thomas Kristensen following Udinese transfer

Atalanta has officially presented Danish defender Thomas Kristensen following his transfer from Udinese. The deal is valued at 22 million euros plus 3 million in bonuses, with Udinese retaining a 10% percentage on any future capital gains.

Kristensen, who arrives to fill the void left by Berat Djimsiti's move to Saudi Arabia, expressed his enthusiasm for the club's European ambitions and the opportunity to work under manager Maurizio Sarri. During his presentation at the Zingonia training center, Kristensen noted that Sarri’s organized tactical approach was a decisive factor in his decision to join the club. He also mentioned his readiness to adapt from a three-man defense to the four-man system utilized by Sarri.

Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli highlighted the strategic nature of the signing, noting that Kristensen is a young talent capable of significant growth. Giuntoli also touched upon other recent club movements, including the retention of Ederson and the signing of midfielder Gaetano. Meanwhile, the club continues to monitor the market, with reports indicating interest in Nottingham Forest's Nicolò Savona to further strengthen the defensive flanks.
