Italian football clubs advance major transfer negotiations

Italian football clubs are actively navigating the summer transfer window and preparing for the upcoming season.

Atalanta is nearing a deal to sign Danish defender Thomas Kristensen from Udinese. The transfer is expected to be worth approximately 22 million euros plus 3 million in bonuses. This move, aimed at strengthening the defense under new manager Maurizio Sarri, also serves as a strategic investment for the club.

Meanwhile, Napoli is in advanced negotiations with Chelsea for defender Benoit Badiashile. While the player has reportedly agreed to personal terms, the clubs are working to finalize a deal, likely structured as a loan with an option to buy. The total value of the operation is being discussed in the range of 25 to 30 million euros. Napoli has also secured the services of young talent Favasuli from Catanzaro and extended captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s contract until 2030.

Other league developments include the publication of the Serie D 2026/2027 calendars and the release of the Fantacalcio player lists for the new season. Serie A clubs are also entering their final stages of summer friendlies to prepare for the new campaign.
