Atarashii Gakko! collaborates with Tokyo Metropolitan Government for projection mapping
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has launched a new projection mapping series at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, featuring the music of the internationally active dance and vocal unit Atarashii Gakko!. The collaboration, part of the ‘TOKYO Night & Light’ initiative to create new tourism resources, showcases two works: the group’s hit ‘Otona Blue’ and their latest track ‘TTTTOKYO’.
An opening event held on August 23 drew approximately 4,000 spectators, including fans and international tourists. Members of the group—SUZUKA, RIN, and MIZYU—appeared alongside guest Tontsukatan Morimoto to participate in a countdown for the first screening. The ‘Otona Blue’ segment features visual recreations of the group’s signature ‘head-swinging dance’ on the building’s facade, while the ‘TTTTOKYO’ segment utilizes energetic lighting to reflect the city's culture and the song's fast-paced rhythm.
During the event, SUZUKA expressed pride in seeing the group’s activities recorded in such a historic manner, stating, “I think being able to record our activities in this way will be a memory I can be proud of even when I am an old woman.” The projection mapping is scheduled to run year-round as part of Tokyo's efforts to enhance its nighttime tourism appeal.
