Atari and Activision announce 39-game physical cartridge collection
Atari and Activision have announced a collaboration to release the ‘Atari x Activision Collection,’ a series of 39 classic Atari 2600 titles on functional physical cartridges. This partnership reunites the two companies nearly 50 years after Activision was founded by former Atari employees.
The collection will be available in three formats. A Standard Edition featuring 12 individual titles, such as ‘Pitfall!’ and ‘River Raid,’ will begin shipping in November at $34.99 each. These cartridges are designed to work on original Atari 2600 and 7800 hardware, as well as modern Atari 2600+ and 7800+ systems.
For collectors, the remaining 27 games will be released in four themed Deluxe Box Sets—Treasure, Speed, Secrets, and Victory—priced at $249.99 each. These sets will roll out between late 2026 and autumn 2027. Additionally, an ‘Ultimate Deluxe Set’ containing the full 39-game collection and a special collectible item will be available for pre-order at $999.96.
