Atari and Twin Galaxies launch global Atari World Championships

Atari announced a partnership with Twin Galaxies to create the Atari World Championships, a worldwide competition that will feature five classic Atari titles. The tournament begins with an open online phase and will culminate in a live Grand Finals event.

Twin Galaxies will oversee the verification of scores using its Submission and Adjudication Process (TGSAP) and will work with selected partners to test interest in the North American market.

Atari CEO Wade Rosen said the company’s 50‑year legacy “continues to be celebrated by fans,” while Twin Galaxies senior executive Zachary Rozga highlighted the aim of reviving the retro competitive spirit. The announcement comes alongside Atari’s separate agreement with Universal Pictures to develop ten films based on its classic games.
