Atatürk University Research Hospital opens medical history museum

Atatürk University Research Hospital in Erzurum has opened a new hospital museum to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of medicine. The museum features approximately 70 artifacts that shed light on the history of the university's Faculty of Medicine and the research hospital.

Key items in the collection include a 1947 X-ray machine, vaccine bags from the 1950s, surgical instruments, laboratory equipment, and various other medical devices. In addition to physical tools, the museum displays archival documents and photographs documenting the institutional development of the faculty and hospital.

Designed as an educational space, the museum serves medical and health sciences students by allowing them to examine historical medical practices and technologies firsthand. The institution aims to demonstrate the evolution of medical technology and increase public health awareness through various exhibitions and events.
