Italy infrastructure projects trigger widespread road and utility works
Various infrastructure projects and maintenance works are being implemented across several regions in Italy, leading to multiple road closures and traffic modifications.
In Ravenna, the redevelopment of the ‘Ex Carni’ area in the port is moving into its operational phase. The project, managed by Consorzio Adriatico, aims to create a new logistics and industrial hub, including new quays and essential utility installations.
Road maintenance is also widespread. Anas is resuming work on the SS77, including seismic improvements to the Chienti III and Caldarola viaducts. In Venice, works on overpasses and underpasses between Mestre and Marghera will involve night shifts to minimize disruption. Other localized projects include asphalt resurfacing in Como, bridge reinforcement on the SP41 in Monza and Brianza, and structural maintenance on the Pont Suaz bridge.
Utility-related works are also causing disruptions. AIMAG is conducting pipeline installations in Cavezzo and network improvements near the Tangenziale Bruno Losi. In Casciago, Alfa Srl is upgrading the sewage system to protect the Lake Varese basin. Additionally, residents in Bra are facing traffic changes due to level crossing repairs and gas excavations, while a long-standing water leak in La Palma continues to affect a local cycle path.
