ATC Esercizio imposes penalties as Fonderie Pisano faces layoffs
ATC Esercizio has announced the application of economic penalties against the company Trotta-Riccitelli due to failures in local public transport services. While the company is utilizing a monitoring system to impose sanctions for service irregularities, legal and bureaucratic constraints prevent the immediate termination of current contracts. ATC Esercizio is currently in dialogue with trade unions to address driver shortages, with a long-term goal of reducing subcontracted services through hiring and internalizing operations.
In a separate industrial matter, Fonderie Pisano is facing potential layoffs for 100 workers as social safety nets are set to expire on October 31. The company stated during a meeting at Confindustria Salerno that production cannot resume without addressing administrative hurdles. The regional government has suspended the review of the plant's integrated environmental authorization pending further impact assessments. In response, the company plans to appeal to the TAR (Regional Administrative Court) to request an urgent conference to allow production to restart using an already installed and authorized electric furnace.
