Ate bus attack leaves driver and teenager wounded

Two assailants on a motorcycle targeted a Nuevo Horizonte bus in the Valdivieso urbanization of the Ate district. One attacker boarded the vehicle under the guise of a passenger and fired up to seven shots at the driver, 43-year-old Julio Enrique Serra Centurión. The driver is currently in intensive care at the Hospital Dos de Mayo fighting for his life. A 14-year-old passenger was also wounded during the shooting.

Surveillance footage captured the suspects abandoning their motorcycle several blocks away from the scene. This incident follows a formal complaint filed by the Nuevo Horizonte transport company on August 10, in which they reported being victims of extortion by criminal gangs.
