Ateneul Român presents six chamber recitals for George Enescu 2026 competition

From 4 to 18 September 2026, Ateneul Român in Bucharest will host a series of six extraordinary chamber recitals as part of the George Enescu International Competition. The programmes feature jury members, former laureates and internationally known artists performing works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Bartók, Prokofiev, Ravel, Schubert and Tchaikovsky. Ticket prices start at 75 lei with discounts for students, seniors and groups.

On 14 September 2026, the National Theatre's Sala Studio will open the Musical Extravaganza season with the annual “Duelul Tenorilor”. Host Stefan von Korch will share the stage with tenors Andrei Mihalcea and Mihai Urzicana, accompanied by pianist Alexandru Burcă, presenting well‑known arias and popular operetta pieces for audiences of all ages.
