Athena targets Hulk Hogan’s championship record

ROH Women’s World Champion Athena is targeting a historic milestone by aiming to surpass Hulk Hogan’s longest championship reign. Having already become the longest-reigning champion in Ring of Honor history, Athena also recently surpassed Roman Reigns’ 1,316-day Universal Championship run on July 19, reaching 1,317 days.

In a recent interview, Athena stated that if she maintains her title through Christmas, she will exceed Hulk Hogan’s record of 1,474 days. While she acknowledged Bruno Sammartino as the ultimate record holder, she expressed a desire to continue her reign indefinitely rather than setting a specific end date. Athena also noted her interest in defending the title internationally and seeking stronger competition outside of ROH.
