Athena Technology Solutions opens first European office in Porto

Athena Technology Solutions, a Silicon Valley-based software specialist, has opened its first European office in Porto, Portugal. Headquartered in Fremont, California, the company focuses on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), which serve as an intermediary layer between enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and machine controls.

The new Porto hub will manage the company’s European commercial activities, project execution, and customer support. While the operation begins with six employees, the company aims to grow the team to 20 within the first year and reach 100 employees within five years. CEO Senthil Ranganathan cited Porto’s technological ecosystem and available talent as key factors in the decision.

Athena currently serves industries including semiconductors, electronics, medical devices, solar energy, and batteries. The company intends to secure at least five European clients by the end of its fiscal year in December and is considering a potential satellite office in Germany as operations evolve.
