Athens Chamber of Commerce provides aid to wildfire-affected regions

The Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has initiated relief efforts for the communities of Mandra-Eidyllia and Haidari following devastating wildfires in West Attica. On August 7, 2026, an ACCI delegation led by President Giannis Chatzitheodosiou delivered approximately 40,000 bottles of water to Mandra-Eidyllia and 3,000 bottles to Haidari to assist residents and firefighting forces.

Following the delivery, officials visited the area of Vilia to meet with local leadership and assess the extent of the damage. The ACCI highlighted the severe impact on local businesses, noting that beyond direct fire damage, power outages have caused significant losses for hospitality and businesses handling perishable goods. The Chamber stated it is working with local municipalities to utilize institutional means to ensure affected professionals receive necessary support and compensation.
