Athens experiences warm weather before predicted storms

Athens experienced unseasonably warm, spring-like weather on Saturday, with temperatures reaching 25.3 degrees Celsius at the Patisia meteorological station. This weather shift led to high foot traffic and shopping activity along Ermou Street, stretching from Syntagma to Monastiraki.

However, the National Observatory of Athens forecasts a rapid weather change for Sunday. Clouds, rain, and thunderstorms are expected to move from northwestern Greece through Western Greece, Thessaly, Central Greece, the Peloponnese, Euboea, and the Sporades, eventually reaching the Cyclades and Crete by evening.

In Attica, clouds and rain are expected on Sunday, with thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Visibility may be limited in some areas during the night and early Monday morning due to potential fog.
