Athens hosts inaugural Prostate Cancer Race for awareness

The inaugural Prostate Cancer Race took place at the Polytechnic University of Zografou, organized by Europa Uomo Hellas and the Panhellenic Association for Prostate Cancer. Hundreds of participants joined the event to promote the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of prostate cancer.

The event featured an 8-kilometer race for adults and a 1,000-meter race for children. Dignitaries in attendance included Deputy Foreign Minister Charis Theocharis, NTUA Rector Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou, and Zografou Mayor Tina Kafatsaki.

To support the educational mission, participants received a ‘Prostate Cancer Prevention and Information Guide’ scientifically edited by the Hellenic Urological Society. The guide provides accessible information regarding risk factors such as age and heredity, as well as guidance on necessary screenings to encourage men to seek timely medical consultation.
