Athens' Lycabettus Theater launches extensive program through October

The Lycabettus open‑air municipal theater in Athens will continue its season until early October, featuring a diverse lineup of ancient drama, contemporary plays, major concerts and international productions. The schedule opens on 30 August with a co‑production of Euripides' "Bacchae" involving the Athens‑Epidaurus Festival, the National Theatre of Bulgaria and the KTHBE, followed by Molière’s "Le malade imaginaire".

Classical works such as Aeschylus’ "Persians", Sophocles’ "Antigone", Aristophanes’ "Peace" and Euripides’ "Medea" will be presented alongside modern pieces like Carlo Goldoni’s "The Servant of Two Masters" and the comedy "Black Sponge – Iconic". The music programme includes performances by Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Juliana Karapataki, Giannis Charoulis, Evanthea Rempitsika, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Villagers of Ioannina City and Miltiadis Paschalidis, as well as a tribute to Mikis Theodorakis.
