Athens traffic and train services face temporary disruptions on June 22‑24
The Greek capital and surrounding areas will experience several transport disruptions in late June 2026. On Tuesday, 23 June, temporary traffic restrictions will be imposed on major streets in Athens and Kallithea to accommodate the Special Olympics "SNF NOSTOS RUN 2026" road races. Vehicle movement will be partially halted from 20:30 until the events end, and parking and stopping will be prohibited from 06:00 until the races conclude on the listed avenues.
Meanwhile, Hellenic Train announced that between 22 and 24 June, train services on the Athens–Thessaloniki corridor will be modified due to scheduled railway infrastructure repairs on the Leianokladi–Larissa segment. Passenger trains will run only up to Leianokladi, with substitute bus services provided to Thessaloniki, Platy, Katerini and Larissa. Similar bus replacements will operate in the opposite direction, ensuring continued connectivity while the rail works are carried out.
