Athens Municipality and Eirini Association open inclusive playground

The Municipality of Athens and the Eirini Social Welfare Association have inaugurated a new playground at the 6th Special Kindergarten in Athens. The project, totaling 8,550 euros, was fully funded by the Eirini Association to remodel the courtyard and install certified equipment.

The playground is specifically designed for children with disabilities, featuring sensory sound toys and interactive Braille equipment to ensure safe and equal access. Athens Mayor Haris Doukas emphasized that the initiative aims to improve school accessibility and support special education needs.

In addition to the playground, municipal officials expressed a continued commitment to addressing special education challenges, specifically calling on the Ministry of Education to ensure proper housing and operation for the Athens Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratory (EEEK).
