Athens nightlife landmark Chorostasio to close after 31 years

The historic Athens nightlife venue Chorostasio is set to close its doors after 31 years of operation. Located in Klathmonos Square, the establishment has been a staple of the city's underground music scene since its opening in December 1995.

To mark its final days, the venue has announced a two-day farewell event. On Friday, November 6, DJ Maikl will perform a ‘Party Like It’s 1999’ set. The closing festivities will conclude on Saturday, November 7, with a performance titled ‘We Are All Made Of Alternative Stars’ featuring DJs Giannis Mantonanakis, Filippos Louvaris, Kostas Fondalis, and Spyros Pagiatakis.

Since its reopening in 2011, the venue has been noted for its role in shaping the city's alternative music identity through the work of various producers and DJs.
