Athens police arrest man for cocaine trafficking

Police in central Athens have arrested a 37-year-old man on charges of possessing and trafficking cocaine. During the arrest, the suspect reportedly attempted to evade officers by attacking them, though he was successfully immobilized.

A search of the suspect's residence led to the seizure of 53.65 grams of cocaine, divided into various packages, as well as 13,845 euros in cash, a vehicle, two mobile phones, and packaging materials.

Investigations revealed that the individual has a prior criminal record involving drug possession, theft, resistance, and manslaughter by negligence. He has been brought before the competent prosecutorial authority.
