Athens School of Fine Arts to receive 7.45 million euros for student housing
The Greek Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Sofia Zacharaki, has approved funding of up to 7.45 million euros to enable the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASKT) to acquire its own student dormitory. This initiative is part of the Ministry’s Sectoral Development Program for 2026–2030.
The allocated funds are intended to cover the purchase of a building, necessary renovations, functional reconfiguration, and required studies to ensure the property is suitable for student housing. This development aims to address the long-standing need for student accommodation and alleviate the financial burden of housing costs on students and their families.
This investment follows previous financial support for the institution, including 800,000 euros allocated for 2026 for maintenance and functional upgrades, as well as an emergency grant of 245,935 euros to cover increased operational needs.
