Athens' Stoa of the Columns set to reopen in July after €40 million revamp
The historic Stoa of the Columns (Stoa Arsenikou) in central Athens will open to the public in mid‑July following an extensive renovation funded with about €40 million. The project, led by the private operator Legendary Food, restored the 19th‑century Megaron Arsenikou and added a large circular table beneath its iconic glass dome, surrounded by trees and communal spaces to create an indoor urban plaza.
The redevelopment, financed by Legendary Food (€22 million), future tenants (€18 million), Alpha Bank and Crediabank, also involves investors such as Contner Holdings, members of the Oikonomou shipping family, Evaggelos Kontzias and Panos Triantafyllopoulos. The venue aims to host 8,000‑10,000 visitors daily and combine gastronomy, culture, retail and education, promoting Greek small‑ and medium‑size producers in the heart of the capital.
