Athens Syntagma Square to Host 2026 Beach Volley Finals as Trikala Prepares Run Greece Marathon

The Athens Finals beach‑volley tournament will return to the historic Syntagma Square in July 2026. After a weather‑related postponement, the semifinals for men and women are set for 25 July, with finals on 26 July. The event includes a Beach Sitting Volley match promoting inclusion, training sessions for unaccompanied minors and migrants, a blood‑donation drive at the nearby metro station, and volunteer activities supporting animal‑adoption and city wildlife.

Separately, the Run Greece road‑running competition is slated for 20 September 2026 in Trikala. Organized by the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS), the race follows a coordination meeting involving regional officials, police, health services and local volunteers. Planning covers race routes, traffic management, safety protocols, medical coverage, and community outreach, with support from the Thessaly regional government and Trikala municipality.
