Athens transit authority rolls out summer timetable for buses, metro and tram

The Athens public‑transport operator OASA has introduced a summer programme ("Θερινό Ι") that will run from early July until the beginning of September. Service frequencies on the metro, suburban railway (HSAP) and tram are reduced to match lower summer demand, with HSAP line 1 running every 7–7.5 minutes, Metro line 2 at 4.5‑minute intervals during peak hours and 5–7 minutes off‑peak, Metro line 3 at 4.5 minutes in the morning and 5.5–8 minutes later, and trams operating about every 12 minutes until 22:00. Bus and trolley routes are adjusted similarly. Frequency is increased on lines serving Eleftherios Venizelos airport, the Piraeus port and the coastal zone, and line 122 (Barcza – St. Argyroupoli) will run daily throughout the summer. Student lines 242, 250 and E90 are temporarily suspended because university exams have finished. Passengers are urged to check OASA’s app or website for any further changes.
