Athens–Corinth Highway to implement 15 new mobile radar locations

The Athens–Corinth National Highway is introducing 15 approved locations for mobile speed cameras to enhance road safety. The plan utilizes TraffiStar S295 portable radar units, which are capable of measuring speeds between 10 and 300 km/h and can monitor up to six lanes, including vehicles traveling in opposite directions.

Because the equipment is mobile, the Traffic Police can relocate the units among the 15 designated spots based on inspection needs. The locations were selected based on accident risk and road danger. The deployment includes eight positions heading toward Corinth (at kilometer marks 33.750, 34.750, 39.750, 41.000, 56.000, 64.250, 69.300, and 81.000) and seven positions returning toward Athens (at kilometer marks 81.000, 64.250, 49.750, 48.000, 45.000, 41.000, and 33.000).

The implementation process involves several stages, including location approval, equipment installation, and the commencement of issuing fines. The plan also includes the installation of warning signage prior to the recording zones.
