Athens‑Thessaloniki Highway Traffic Restrictions to Lamia Direction

From 18:00 on Monday 3 August until 07:00 on Friday 7 August 2026, the Athens‑Thessaloniki (AΘΕ) highway will operate under temporary traffic measures to allow road‑work resurfacing. Phase A (3 and 5 August) closes the right‑hand lane and the emergency lane between km 89.05‑89.73, directing traffic to the left lane and diverting drivers via the side network to the Thiva interchange. Phase B (4 and 6 August) extends the closure to km 90.4, with similar lane‑shifts and detours.

The New Road authority has installed temporary signage and urges drivers to follow the posted directions. If work finishes early, normal traffic will resume ahead of schedule.
