Ather Energy expands sales to Indian Armed Forces and prepares Konarc launch

Ather Energy has received approval to sell its electric two-wheelers through the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) portal, providing Indian Armed Forces personnel and their families access to its products. Sales via this channel are expected to begin in September 2026. The approved lineup includes eight variants from the Ather 450 and Rizta model ranges, though the flagship 450 Apex is excluded. Eligible buyers can benefit from standard GST reductions and additional company discounts.

Separately, Ather is preparing for the August 29 launch of its new electric scooter, the Konarc, at its Community Day event in Bengaluru. Teasers for the Konarc have revealed that the vehicle will feature metal body panels, a design choice intended to signal build quality. While specific technical details remain unconfirmed, reports suggest the Konarc may utilize a new Bedrock battery family, offering potential ranges between 100km and 200km depending on the variant.
