Ather Energy launches Konarc mass‑market electric scooter in 2026

Ather Energy announced that its new family electric scooter, named the Ather Konarc, will be unveiled on 29 August 2026 at the company’s Annual Community Day in India. The model is built on the EL platform and is aimed at the mass‑market two‑wheeler segment priced between ₹1 million and ₹1.25 million (ex‑showroom). A teaser video released by the firm shows a redesigned front fascia, a full‑width LED DRL, a 14‑inch front wheel, metal body panels and a spacious seat, signalling a shift toward a more practical commuter design.

CEO and co‑founder Tarun Mehta confirmed the launch on X, noting that the new manufacturing facility at Auric, Maharashtra, will begin operations in the third quarter of FY27. Phase 1 will add capacity for 5 lakh scooters, raising total annual output to 9.2 lakh units, with Phase 2 targeting a further 5 lakh, for a total of 14.2 lakh units per year.
