Athina Economakou explains decision to keep children off social media

Greek actress Athina Economakou has addressed her decision to keep her children, Maximos and Sienna, off social media. In a video shared on TikTok, she explained that her choice is driven by a desire to protect them from the risks associated with online exposure.

Economakou noted that she has consciously declined numerous lucrative commercial offers that would have involved featuring her children. She characterized the practice of using children for social media engagement as a form of ‘commodification’. She further clarified that her lack of posting about them is often misinterpreted by followers as neglect, whereas it is actually a deliberate privacy measure. To maintain their anonymity in public, she even avoids posing for photos with them when approached by fans.
