Athlete Álex Roca promotes disability inclusion in Mexico

Spanish athlete Álex Roca Campillo, the first person with cerebral palsy to complete a marathon, spoke at the ‘México Siglo 21’ forum organized by the Fundación Telmex Telcel in Mexico City. During his presentation, Roca emphasized that while physical disabilities present challenges, the most significant obstacles are the mental barriers and societal attitudes that must be addressed through education and values.

Roca shared his personal journey of self-acceptance and his goal of fostering inclusion so that future generations treat people with disabilities equally. He noted that his objective is to encourage society to embrace differences rather than fear them. The athlete, who has participated in various endurance events including the Titan Desert, also visited Teletón facilities during his stay in Mexico.
