Athletes complete long-distance running challenges in France and Spain
Two endurance athletes have completed significant long-distance running journeys. Émilie Mouriès, a 23-year-old physiotherapy graduate, completed a 2,300-kilometer trek from Nancy, France, to Santiago de Compostela. The 66-day journey was prepared over six months and supported by her partner, Luc Didier, who managed logistics via a mobile support vehicle.
Separately, adventurer Alban Pellegrin completed a challenge involving 72 marathons in 72 days across France. Covering more than 3,000 kilometers, Pellegrin relied on the hospitality of strangers for lodging each night. The feat, which he documented in his book ‘J’ai couru chez vous’, was undertaken as a tribute to his mother, who passed away from lung cancer in 2023.
