Athletes from Aceh Jaya and South Kalimantan achieve success in regional martial arts competitions

In Banda Aceh, taekwondo athletes from Aceh Jaya secured two gold medals and a best athlete title at the Mayor of Banda Aceh Cup. Lilyan, competing in the Under 42 kg class, and Rizki both represented Bank Aceh but were trained at the Dojang Young Generation Aceh Jaya under coach Muhammad Iqbal. The competition featured approximately 1,000 athletes from Aceh and North Sumatra.

In a separate martial arts event, South Kalimantan boxers earned a total of 13 medals at the AHY Cup National Championship. The haul included three gold medals won by Beatrix Suguro, Haliza Nahdya, and Felicia Abela Jasmini Ho. The team also secured five silver and five bronze medals. Coach Simeon Tamelab noted that the championship serves as a vital evaluation tool to prepare athletes for upcoming regional sports competitions, including the Pra-PON and the 2028 National Sports Week (PON) in East Nusa Tenggara.
