Athletes from HANDICAP Zakopane Foundation celebrate international success

Athletes with intellectual disabilities from the HANDICAP Zakopane Foundation have achieved significant success in international competitions. During a meeting with Małopolska Vice-Marshal Witold Kozłowski, representatives highlighted a highly successful season across multiple disciplines, including athletics, skiing, and table tennis.

In recent competitions, the foundation's athletes earned 12 medals at the SKI VIRTUS OPEN skiing event. Their achievements extended to athletics, where they secured 15 medals at the SUDS World Championships and 23 medals during the VIRTUS European Games and European Championships held in Bydgoszcz.

Małgorzata Tlałka-Długosz, president of the HANDICAP Zakopane Foundation, emphasized that while medals recognize hard work and preparation, the sense of family among athletes, coaches, caregivers, and parents remains the most valuable aspect of their journey.
