Athletes in Banyumas and Semarang prepare for Porprov Jateng 2026

Athletes and coaches from Banyumas and Semarang Regency are undergoing final preparations for the XVII Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov Jateng) scheduled for 2026.

In Banyumas, over 400 athletes and coaches participated in a motivational briefing organized by the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) Banyumas. Bupati Sadewo Tri Lastiono emphasized that mental readiness is as crucial as physical strength, noting that athletes serve as ambassadors for the region.

In Semarang Regency, Bupati Ngesti Nugraha officially inaugurated a contingent of 263 athletes competing in 36 sports branches. The regional government has indicated that bonuses will be provided to medalists, subject to local budget availability. KONI Semarang has set a target of at least 30 gold and 25 silver medals, aiming to break into the top seven rankings, an improvement from their previous eleventh-place finish.
