Athletes Kevin Brumann and Jan-Willem van Schip announce departures

Swiss motocross rider Kevin Brumann has announced his departure from MX Handel Racing after two seasons. Brumann expressed gratitude to the team and sponsors for the experiences shared during his tenure. While his plans for the 2027 season remain undisclosed, he indicated that updates regarding his next professional chapter will be released soon.

In professional cycling, Jan-Willem van Schip is retiring from the sport. A two-time world champion, Van Schip has been characterized as an outsider throughout his career, often facing disputes with officials such as the UCI and KNWU over equipment and conduct. His decision to retire is driven by physical and psychological challenges, including PTSD stemming from a childhood trauma, alongside the physical toll of professional racing.
