Athletes set new ultramarathon and swimming world records

In recent sporting achievements, Ivan Cvijovic set a new Montenegrin national record at the Belgrade Ultramarathon. Cvijovic, a member of PSK ‘Vitor’, completed 208 kilometers in 24 hours, securing second place overall. This performance significantly surpasses the previous Montenegrin record of 164 kilometers.

In swimming, Russian athlete Yegor Kornev tied the world record in the 100-meter freestyle during the first stage of the World Cup in Short Course Swimming. Kornev clocked a time of 44.84 seconds, matching the record previously set by Australia's Kyle Chalmers. This event marks a notable return for Russian swimmers, who are competing under their own flag and anthem for the first time since 2022 following the lifting of restrictions by the International Swimming Federation.
