Athletic Bilbao and Recreativo de Huelva each face multiple preseason injuries

Athletic Bilbao entered its second preseason training session missing four first‑team players due to medical issues: Andoni Gorosabel is recovering from a moderate adductor injury, Nico Serrano has a quadriceps overload, Yuri Berchiche remains sidelined with an undisclosed problem, and Unai Egiluz is out after ACL reconstruction on his right knee. The club also noted several others absent for the World Cup or personal leave.

Recreativo de Huelva’s pre‑season work is similarly hampered. Right‑back Álex Carrasco continues a lengthy recovery from a serious injury, while the status of forward Mario da Costa remains uncertain as he lacks a current contract. Coach Jesús Galván has integrated new signings Bonaque, Juan Antonio Segura and Pablo Évora, but the squad still has limited senior‑player slots, prompting a focus on youth and possible winter‑window moves.

Both clubs are adjusting their training plans and squad composition as they prepare for the upcoming league campaigns, with injuries and contract issues shaping their early‑season strategies.
