Athletic Club approves 2026/27 budget with 71.4% support

Athletic Club has approved its budget for the 2026/27 season during the Ordinary General Assembly at the Euskalduna Palace. The proposal received 379 votes in favor, 133 against, and 19 blank votes, representing 71.4% support. This marks an increase in approval compared to the previous session regarding the 2025/26 management, which received 58% support.

The approved budget projects 152.6 million euros in income and an estimated loss of 3.2 million euros, a figure attributed to the absence of European competition. This income is lower than the record 192.9 million euros generated in the 2025/26 fiscal year.

Financial records also reveal details regarding player acquisitions. The club reported 29.96 million euros in new player rights, primarily driven by the signings of Aymeric Laporte and Jesús Areso. Accounting estimates suggest Laporte’s acquisition cost approximately 17 million euros, accounting for roughly 57% of the year's total additions.
