Athletic Bilbao defeats Getafe 4-0 in La Liga

Athletic Bilbao secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Getafe at San Mamés during the 10th round of La Liga. Álex Berenguer was the standout performer, scoring the opening goal from a direct free kick in the 17th minute and providing assists for subsequent goals by Iñaki Williams and Yuri Berchiche. Aitor Paredes added the third goal in the 70th minute.

The win helps Athletic Bilbao climb to eighth place in the standings, ending a four-match winless streak. Conversely, the defeat leaves Getafe in 17th place, just above the relegation zone. Getafe’s struggles were compounded by a red card for Mario Martín in the 86th minute, marking the team's fifth red card of the season.

The match also featured the debuts of two youth players, Christian Imga and Txus Vizcay. Despite the hostile reception from home fans toward Getafe defender Dani Carvajal due to a past injury involving Yuri Berchiche, the two players shared a conciliatory embrace following the final whistle.
